About this site

The Momot Stack is an independent publication launched in September 2026 by Ashton Momot. No subscription required, I just appreciate anyone reading! Please feel free to share any requests for content at ashton@momotfamily.com

But, why?

I'm a sysadmin by trade, and I love tinkering in the homelab. Because, why not? I get to learn new technologies, improve my security in homelab, and push some of these aspects into production.

Everything, even this website, is hosted on my servers. Self hosting is a really cool rabbit hole that allows you to solve problems that you have with some kind of open source application. Want to get your pictures off of Google? There's an app for that. Want to authenticate using a Yubikey or other physical key for some of your hosted apps? Covered. It's endless what you can do and really are only limited by your RAM budget these days.
